Trying To Buy Love For Five Cents
I'm sorry to short-change you but I can't quite recall the many wonderful things that must have occurred between the ages of 0 to 5, BUT you can probably imagine it must have been good! Learning to walk and talk, increasing my vocabulary daily the world was getting a better understanding of what made me tick! I sometimes wonder though what type of baby they considered me to be...cute and adorable? A cry baby? Knowing that I tend to be a rather conservative laid back individual in all likelihood I wouldn't say 'cry baby' best defined me.
The time finally came that my parents insisted I go to school. At first there was kindergarten and then grade 1 and 2 and it seems like somewhat of a moot point for we all know that 2 normally follows 1 but not for some. I knew of an odd gifted child who was given the privilege of skipping 2 and were put right into 3, but I'm glad that wasn't my fate! I say that for the reason that well...to be honest....the grade 2 teacher was a real doll, or babe, or however else once could describe a pretty one of the female gender so no I didn't mind NOT skipping ahead.
For sure I guess you could say that was my first crush and I probably wouldn't have minded if she held me back an extra year by having me fail. I would have graduated some day, but it would have looked a little odd being about five years in the same grade. Come to think of it my dear darling wife kind of looks like my grade 2 teacher although my wife is a great deal more prettier. I was sent to the third grade the following year and immediately fell for I a girl my own age.
I did a rather unusual and strange thing when it came to her. I had a silly notion, that I think came from the Beatles, that if I gave her something precious, like a nickel or a five cent piece that all would be well and that she'd be forever mine. Understand this now, lest you consider my nickel of little import, but back in the 60's a nickel or a five cent piece could buy one a whole bag of Humpty Dumpty potato chips so as you can see I was offering her a pretty good treat.
Alas, she didn't see it that way and refrained from taking the money. I do realize and admit this "love" was of the puppy kind or the sort not like the strong devotion I felt towards my teacher the year before , but I'm sure it was none-the-less heart felt and sincere. For a few weeks I blamed the Beatles for you see their great song had just come out was, "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and when I think of it now that was probably the very thing that inspired me with the thought of all what I wanted to do with this girl..."Hold Her Hand"
The Beatles also taught me a good lesson by the lyrics of their other song that came , "Can't Buy Me Love". When I heard it I felt like screaming, DON'T I KNOW IT!!! I kind of wondered if maybe one of them experienced the same thing as a child that is trying to give a girl a nickel to win her devotion and were flatly turned down in a similar fashion as I.
They did sing after all, "I'll give you all I got to give if you say you love me too, I may not have a lot to give but what I got I'll give to you". I kind of think though they had a lot more to give then just a nickel or a five cent piece. Undoubtedly it was probably more like a dime, a quarter or maybe even a whole dollar! Oh well the lessons of life are learned. One can sing "Got To Get You Into My Life" all one wants but sometimes the answer from the other is just plain no!

I Was Born When 'Be Bop Baby' Was A Hit!
I was born on June 14th 1957, in the town of Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada In the year of 57. Britain tested their first hydrogen bomb and Elvis Presley recorded his hit, 'Loving You." I'm confident of course my mother must have sang it to me bringing me home from the hospital. Or could she have sung 'Be Bop Baby' and "I'm All Shook Up" which came out the same year, I just can't say. According to my latest check, the actual day of my birth was a on a Friday, and I've got it on the word of a couple of pretty reliable sourses that the time was around 9:45 p.m. of the Eastern Standard Type.
Concerning my actual date of birth I'll return to in a moment but just let me say how very fortunate I consider myself to have June as my actual birth month! Except for the very huge, ugly and grotesque June bugs which fly and buzz around the first week of the month, there's just something so lovely and exquisite about June if one thinks about it and I'd ask you to do so now if you would. January, February, and March are considered the dead of winter, while April, and May are the times where the seasons are setting the stage for what generally will be the good weather to come.
In June the leaves of the trees have reached their mature colour of green and I've read that there are more flowers seen in this particular month then in any other. Might it be said it's like the whole of creation is screaming out, "This is it! Everything is now prepared for the year to start and just to demonstrate the truth of this very thing you're to become blessed with innumerable and countless seeds scattered in the wind which in their own June time spring forth into lovely dandelions which will grace the lawns of the rich and the poor alike with no expense to the recipients I might add."

Oh yes I'm aware that many would claim they're undesirable but could such individuals really honestly and sincerely tell me they've given them a chance? I can assure you that those who do have been known to say what a nice, relaxing, and gentle scent they possess. I do acknowledge however that I keep them pretty much cleared off my lawn seeking to be somewhat accommodating to all my neighbours who make it their custom and habit to do so as well. I'll say this part with no shame however that when I'm passing by the open spaces where one sees them growing in abundance I see these lovely, gold, sunny like looking entities and I say, "Thrive on you wonders of beauty and grace thrive on!"

Welcome Aboard !
On my very first blog to start off I'll reiterate once again how pleased I am to have you come on board! I was telling everybody else how much I'd hope you'd pop in and WOW! Here you are and yes...I'm talking about YOU. I truly feel honoured and pleased that you would take the time to do so and sincerely hope you will find this an interesting, fun, enjoyable place to be!
I'm confident that with you hopefully leaving comments from day to day that there'll be much food for thought for all of us to consider, and please don't be shy or hesitate to post! Your participation is valuable to me and I'll try to do my very best as time allows to give a response.
I call my blog 'The Bigger Picture' for isn't that one of the main things we should encourage one another to look to in life, to look beyond just surface reasoning, and to consider every aspect of whatever subject and theme?
In so doing I would suggest we can arrive at seeing things from a greater perspective and thereby making it possible to have and enjoy a more positive optimistic outlook on life. Let me just say there will be some of my blogs where I'll be wearing a JA hat which means just a little bit of fun joking around, for one and all need a touch of humour once in awhile do they not?
Some blogs will be more of a serious nature or you might say I'm wearing an S hat, meaning serious. I do trust and hope that you're not tempted to think I'm wearing a D hat and because of time I won't even discuss what that means. Well....for my first number of blogs I'll be doing some humour pieces of my life in a Forrest Gump type of fashion...hope ya will enjoy them :-) Fasten your seat belts for the journey is about to begin!!
