Bachelor Pablo Misunderstood?

Image
Tell me I'm not doing a blog about The Bachelor show!  Well I guess I am.  Poor Pablo! His full name... Juan Pablo Galavis .  Nobody seems to like him much, except lady Nicky who claims she's found her love. All Pablo could get out was that he liked her a lot.  The 'Bachelor/Bachelorette show... It's that rather quirky romance series  where approximately 25 members of the opposite sex compete to win the affections of merely one guy...or gal depending if it's the time of the male gender or female, as being the prime star. There's been 18 seasons of the show with the end result of 4 actual weddings which clearly doesn't even come up to a 25% ratio of couples becoming hitched for a life time of martial bliss.    It's not the easiest thing in the world for I as a male to acknowledge I've watched the program as men generally turn the station to something more brutally aggressive like football or a good war film...but the Bachelor/Bachelore...

March: Spring Is Marching Towards Us!!

Image
Well here we are in the month of March! At the time of this writing it's actually the 2nd day of the month and supposedly it's the time when March, weather wise comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. We'll see. Here's some need to know trivial about the month to help pass the time away. If we're going to be going through all these 24 hour periods one day at a time well let's develop some expertise in knowing  about it. It's the time when the earth finally starts tilting back the Northern hemisphere into the more direct rays of the sun. Yes spring time is coming however hard that might be for people to believe after the tough winter we've had. March was actually the first month of the Roman calender named after the Roman god, Mars. Other cultures as well considered it to be the first month of the year and probably with good reason for it was considered to be the time when the earth finally could be seen through the snow. Most certainliy that co...

Valentine's Card, Flowers, Supper and Car Wash

Image
A few days ago was Valentine's Day. My wife and I had a good laugh as we considered the events of our day! At sunrise we exchanged cards. I'd got her some flowers and chocolates etc and yes we went out for supper. We contemplated going to see a movie but due to the fact she had to wake up for work early the next morning we decided to forgo the movie for another day! Actually we had seen a film one week prior but yes there's still one we'd like to see. I asked her after our Valentine's Supper what she'd like to do next and the reply? "Go through the car wash." So we did! Just so you know we didn't do this on the cheap using manual sprayers. I decided money was no object! I asked for the Luxury Wash which is the best you can get and of course the machines do it all for you, with no need for her or I to step out of the car. Come to think of it she wouldn't have had to get out of the car regardless. I would have taken care of that but ...

Necessary Snowflake Information! The winter in 2013/2014 in North America has been a cold one with lots of snow and many in light of the fact that the Groundhog on his day rendered his verdict there'd be another 6 weeks of winter...well a great many are too exasperated or  afraid to even consider we could have quite a few snow storms yet. Perhaps it's time to adapt a 'if you can't beat it you may as well enjoy it' mentality. Here's a cheerful thought about snow...breaking it down individual flakes have been said by one Wilson Alwyn "Snowflake" Bentley as 'tiny miracles of beauty' and ice crystals as "Ice Flowers".   Next time you go out to clear your driveway you can announce you're going to shovel the flowers, and see if that causes eye brows to raise amongst other famly members. Wilson Bentley was born in 1865, and upon turning 15, took a microscope his mother  gave him and zoomed in upon the individuals components o...

I Found It So Don't "Search For Tomorrow"

On the date of the 26th of December but in 1986--The U. S . TV soap "Search for Tomorrow" ended its 35 year run. It's too bad the last day wasn't called "The Search Is Over" or "It's Finally Found" or "We Give Up!" Searching but never finding...some would have given up years ago but at least they were persistent! Doing the math if they were "Searching for Tomorrow" for 35 years that would mean....365 X 35 ='s 12,775! So...close to 18,000 times they had achieved their goal...having been in tomorrow and never knew it! It's too bad they couldn't go back to yesterday and a great many days before that when the first day the show aired and at twelve midnight a bell would ring signifying the new Soap should be called, "Discovery of the Day: One Hour At A Time". To allow 35 years to go by looking for something you've already found multiple times seems like a precious waste of time, and as the...
