Genuine Product Pricing [GPP] Part 2

Image
Continuation Of Genuine Product Pricing.... One might call it Genuine Product Pricing or GPP. Instead of say asking, for an example, $599.99  you consider getting real and put down the genuine price as $600.00. You might ask if customers wouldn't be  perturbed for not allowing them to experience the one cent saving on a purchase of something that costs hundreds of dollars but I'd suspect they'd get over it don't you think?  They might even stop to consider that you're a business which tells things like they are and feel good about giving you that extra penny when they see your price as say, $800.00 instead of $799.99.  I'd like us all to imagine a world where you walk in a store and see ads and see stickers on tags as, "We're firmly and absolutely are committed to GPP as apart of our friendly good service" Would it mean that one could never price something in the 90 range? No, there can be genuine exceptions but when it's a ...

Lets talk about feelings shall we---How's it make you feel when you're in the market  and you see the price of things set at $3.99, $19.99 or $199.99? Looking at more costly items you might see $999.99 or how about $19,999.99.  Yes I'm aware that they'll juggle even a few numbers different and call it 19,998.07 but the idea is still the same---make the customer "seem" or "feel"  they're getting their product purchase at a lower level of cost. $3.99 has the feel of 3 dollars and well....just something a little extra, and $199.99 seems like around $ 100.00, or something like that.   If one looks at a price label of $19,999.99 then what's the feeling left with that?  $19,000.00?  Is it my purpose  to stand against the liberties of a free society and to stop by legislative force the rights of a citizenry to do so as they please in the setting of their price of goods or services?  No, a thousand [1000] times NO, and you'...

Revisiting Susan Boyle Audition Part 4

I've heard it said there probably isn't anybody alive today who hasn't heard the name of Susan Boyle.  She's loved and appreciated around the world for her awesome powerful singing  but her widespread  appeal and acceptance can  also can be attributed to not just to her music but to her person as well.  The entertainment industry has been known to be full of extremely pretentious individuals, cookie cut it would seem from a Hollywood mold , and then  along comes this refreshing breath of fresh air, Susan Boyle, breaking traditional rules of achieving stardom, and who,  singing with a great passion from the heart and soul--the world became convinced--this was one real and genuine individual!   There are many things one could say they admire about Susan . Beyond just her singing, what comes to my mind, is her desire  to always seek  to be gracious and forg...

Revisiting Susan Boyle Audition Part 3

One of the judges of 'Britains Got Talent' stated they felt the whole audience was against Susan prior to her singing.  While we may not be singers in a talent competition maybe we're prone to think likewise about ourselves?  It may not even be that we feel people are against us but we wonder at times how many are for us.  Susan did not succumb to a sense or feeling of inferiority that some in the audience would place upon her but rose up to embrace an optimistic winning attitude that she was going to make the audience rock!   That statement, I would say is the very thing a determined "tiger" [as Simon Cowell referred to her as being] needs to make to drive away negativity  creating a better chance to achieve one's goal!  Susan in her audition interview was asked if she was nervous and she responded, "Sure enough" but she was also aware that if she acted in timidity and fear she'd more then likely let herself down, ...

Revisiting Susan Boyle Audition Part 2

The days following having viewed the Susan Boyle video I took a keen interest in how  the story would develop.  Would she win the 'Britain Got Talent' competition?  The world was watching to see!   I combed the internet each day always intrigued by reading the editorials from journalists world-wide and their take on Susan .  Fan sites very quickly began springing up and one in particular I think you'll find  excellent  is  http://www.susan-boyle.com/    If you're interested in the following and tracking of Susan's career from its start to the present day I'd highly recommend it. It was my privilege and honour to actually even serve there as a moderator, that is one of a group of moderators overseeing the site for a period of time.  I believe you'll find it's one of the best when it comes to keeping informed about Susan and her career, and is a fun place to visit as you can make friends with othe...

My first blog of the New Year I'd like to do concerning the wonderful and highly talented Susan Boyle!  Since I begain my blog in September its been my intent to want to touch on this theme but thought the month of January would be best.  Why?  Two reasons, first, is there any better way to start  a new year then to consider one who's inspired multitudes world wide  to follow their dreams?  Secondly  it was  the month of January that Susan actually sang  her rendition of  'I Dreamed A Dream"  on 'Britains Got Talent'.   April was actually the time it was shown to the general public. Two years have passed since that memorable event and many wonderful things have happened to this one who expressed the hope of becoming a professional singer. Two CD's have been released both of which have done extremely well in sales world wide, and also a must read autobiography  detailing the journey of ...

Welcoming Week For 2011

Image
Maybe we could consider calling the last week of December, 'Welcome Week,' for we're about to welcome a new year into our lives.  Welcome week or the week of reassessment sounds good to me. We go through the whole month of December preparing for the great celebration of Christmas and before one  knows  its come and gone.  It could be that we should be adopting the philosophy of the converted to goodness Scrooge,  who learned to observe the spirit of Christmas giving the whole 365 days  a year. That would mean of course that everyday would be like Christmas!    Might I suggest however that the kind Scrooge would still believe in the logic of a good business plan. Instead of just giving his last dime to the poor don't you think he'd probably put a high priority in educating people as well? We've all heard that you can give a poor man a fish but ultimately the real solution is to teach him how to fish for himself and that my frie...
